Gwaenysgor Conservation Group
The Group is a registered charity and its objectives are “to conserve the village of Gwaenysgor, its wildlife and natural habitat.” Gwaenysgor has been identified as a conservation village and is within the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The group’s aim is to encourage biodiversity, improve the natural environment of the village and preserve its Welsh heritage.
We work alongside the AONB. Flintshire Biodiversity Officer and the Community Council on community projects including restoration, planting and adopting areas inside the village.
Recent projects include the instillation of a replica water pump in Well Lane and the planting of a wild flower meadow on the village green. New benches are to added to be the two village greens to encourage residents and visitors to enjoy our beautiful village.
The next meeting is our AGM on January 18th 2024 at 7.00pm.
Meetings are held bi-monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 7.00pm in the village hall, new members are very welcome to join us and an annual subscription of £5.00 is requested.
